Oyster 805 Sets Sail

A New Era of Superyacht-Inspired Bluewater Cruising

At a private event on May 1st at London’s historic St Katharine Docks, Oyster Yachts unveiled plans for the Oyster 805—an 80-foot bluewater cruiser that marks the brand’s most ambitious design evolution to date. Superyacht-inspired, crafted for long-range exploration, and built to cross oceans with confidence, the 805 is a vessel that carries adventure with elegance.

Designed in collaboration with longtime partner Humphreys Yacht Design, the 805 is positioned between the existing 745 and 885 Series II models. With sweeping hull windows, custom interiors, and features typically reserved for superyachts, the 805 blends performance and sophistication in equal measure. The first hull is expected to launch in 2027 and will be built to order, underscoring Oyster’s bespoke approach and commitment to detail.

“The Oyster 805 is the yacht I dreamed of when I took the helm at Oyster — she’s striking, luxurious, and built to take you anywhere,” says Richard Hadida, Owner and Chairman of Oyster Yachts. “I’m proud of what she represents — the next generation of Oyster.”

Iconic Styling, Reimagined

Oyster’s signature styling has been thoughtfully evolved in the 805. Sleek lines and wraparound deck saloon windows offer a striking silhouette, while larger Seascape windows in the saloon and master cabin provide breathtaking panoramic views and an abundance of natural light.

A fixed, solar-integrated Starlight Bimini protects the central cockpit and adds architectural refinement. Ambient lighting enhances the space for evening entertaining, while new “Wing” seats—sculpted into the coaming beside the helm—offer the ideal vantage point for both skipper and guests. Aft, a twin-access bathing platform with integrated shower makes for seamless tender access and leisure time on the water.

Superyacht Versatility at 80 Feet

The Oyster 805 brings superyacht flexibility to a sub-24m bluewater yacht. Owners can tailor onboard spaces to suit personal lifestyle needs—from a built-in day bar or saloon daybed to a gym, snug, private office or library.

In the saloon, the yacht introduces “THE VIEW”—an inspired daybed positioned to take in unobstructed vistas through expanded windows. A tender well transforms into a chillout zone, while a daybed in the center cockpit encourages relaxed gatherings beneath the Bimini.

With four en-suite guest cabins—each light, airy, and exquisitely crafted—the 805 offers refined comfort and privacy for extended voyaging. Personalised interiors and a state-of-the-art infotainment system complete the sense of sanctuary.

Performance and Capability

Beneath the refined design lies the uncompromising performance that defines Oyster’s bluewater legacy. The 805 features a powerful sail plan and the latest powered sail-handling systems, all engineered for serious passage-making. Her hydrodynamic hull delivers exhilarating yet smooth sailing, and Oyster’s hallmark strength of construction is Lloyd’s certified.

Owners can select from multiple keel configurations, including a shoal draft of just 2.67m (8’7”), enabling access to remote anchorages far beyond the limits of many other yachts. And at under 24m, the 805 complies with Europe’s seagrass regulations—making her a more versatile and eco-conscious choice.

The announcement of the Oyster 805 marks a significant evolution in the brand’s fleet of luxury bluewater sailing yachts. Combining classic Oyster styling with superyacht-level innovation, the 805 embodies strength of construction, world-class craftsmanship, and elegant design. Built for confident global exploration and supported by Oyster’s renowned global services, this new model reflects the meticulous work and forward-thinking vision that define the company’s next chapter.

Smart Systems, Seamless Control

The 805 introduces the new-generation Oyster Command™ system, integrating navigation, entertainment, and black box monitoring into a unified touchscreen interface, also accessible via the Oyster App. With optional satellite connectivity and onboard WiFi, remote work and digital autonomy are available anywhere in the world.

A New Chapter for Oyster

The unveiling of the 805 comes as Oyster Yachts experiences record-breaking sales and strong financial growth. To support its global expansion and elevate its luxury positioning, the brand recently appointed Torsten Müller-Ötvös, former CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, as Strategic Advisor. Known for redefining Rolls-Royce as a modern luxury powerhouse, Müller-Ötvös brings visionary leadership to Oyster as it refines both its brand and its worldwide footprint.

Oyster also introduced two new initiatives aimed at enriching the ownership experience. Inspired by the spirit of the legendary Oyster World Rally, the new Oyster Explorers Club offers curated, fully supported expeditions to more remote destinations. Complementing this, the Bluewater Academy provides hands-on training tailored to both novice and seasoned sailors, ensuring each owner feels confident and capable at sea.

Furthering its fleet development, Oyster revealed the Oyster 595 Series II—a refined take on its bestselling 60-foot model. Upgrades include enhanced living spaces, larger seascape windows, and cutting-edge onboard technologies.

“The Oyster 805 has been an exciting design to develop, moving the performance profile upwards while conceding nothing in terms of Oyster’s core bluewater values of safety, seakindliness and comfort,” say Rob and Tom Humphreys of Humphreys Yacht Design. “The latter part of that formula is ingrained in our culture with over 100 HYD Oysters now having successfully completed circumnavigations, and it is with respect to this provenance that we have taken the 805 forward.” ☐
